Hi, I’m Fiona and I’m from Cork, Ireland.
I’ve been teaching English all my working life, first in Barcelona and then in Alicante, with both children and adults.
After holidaying in El Bierzo for a few years, I fell in love with the climate, countryside and people and decided to come to live here.
I was lucky to have been invited to be part of a team who were starting a Bilingual programme.
When I started working in this school, I could have never imagined that the day would come when my students would speak to me, exclusively in English!!
There is nothing more gratifying than to start a working day with a Hi, Fiona, a Hello or a Good Morning from all my students.
Thanks to the English Department, who have worked side by side with me over these years, our students have become used to speaking English naturally.
And that’s what bilingualism is all about.
